About the Sanctuary

When we moved to a few acres in Morrison, CO we decided to adopt a trio of 8 year old Nigerian Dwarf goats who were looking for a new home. Before long more unwanted, misfit, or special needs animals began to find their way to our home. Some of the animals at the sanctuary were our personal pets before the dream of a rescue had come to fruition, and some are “official” Gray Muzzle Society residents who were transferred into our care by local shelters or individuals who were no longer able to keep them. Either way, these amazing individuals have continued to inspire our mission, and make regular appearances at our events and education programs. We hope you’ll love them as much as we do!

The sanctuary animals aren’t up for adoption, they’ve found their forever home. But that doesn’t mean they can’t use your help. Penny and Dudley, the pigs, eat more than 100 lbs of food each week alone. The neurological meds for Noodle the blind cerebellar pup are more than $200 each month. You can help support the care of the animals at The Sanctuary by shopping on our wish list. We don’t typically accept owner surrender animals, but do make space for homeless hospice pets, farm animals, and other animals with unique needs that we think we can help. Feel free to reach out to see if we have space available.
